Job Description
– Reporting to the Division Manager for Animal Resources Processing & Biotechnology, the Instrument Engineer will have the following responsibilities:
– Ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment and facilities in the animal resources processing unit including all routine service and repair works
– Prepare needs of spare parts of for all animal resources processing equipments
– Conduct the maintenance and calibration of equipment
– Contribute actively in the preparation of technical specifications of laboratory equipments.
– Contribute actively in the development standard operating procedures for the proper utilization of laboratory and animal resources processing equipments.
– Conduct of training for laboratory staff on the proper utilisation of laboratory equipment
– Participate actively in data collection, analysis, interpretation and timely reporting on Engineering and maintenance of postharvest and biotechnological equipment.
– Assure the proper utilization of institutional resources and safeguard of assets as far as his/her portfolio is concerned.
– Perform any other duty as required by the competent authorities.
