Job Description
Reporting to the Seed and Fertilizers Division Manager, the Supply Chain Management Specialist has the following functions:
– Coordinating and facilitating the establishment of demand-supply articulation to effectively inform production planning for the local production of improved seed for priority crops;
– Spearhead the convening of annual joint planning sessions for the production and supply of adequate seed for the different categories of seed;
– Monitor, closely follow-up, and appraise the implementation of production plans for the different categories of seed for priority crops and other support interventions;
– Contribute to the development of knowledge tools and information systems on agriculture inputs value chain development;
– Devise mechanisms that promote improved forecasting of demand for seeds and fertilizers to allow for effective planning and supply of the needed quantities of inputs;
– Establishing partnership with agriculture inputs value chain stakeholders including seed producers, agro-dealers, farmers, local government, civil society organizations, private sector and development partners;
– Coordinate and ensure the timely availability and delivery of input by farmers including quality seeds and mineral fertilizers during cropping seasons;
– Organize sessions for seed production planning, monitoring, evaluation, impact assessment and reporting processes of the and distribution;
– Coordinate and monitor the implementation of plans for the production of different categories of seed for priority crops both on RAB Stations and private seed multipliers.
– Ensure the development and use of innovate tools to ensure the delivery of seeds and fertilizers distributed for use farmers in districts are adequately monitored;
– Coordinate the implementation of activities, projects and assets management that promote the delivery of adequate quality seed in the country and that public finances and goods are well managed;
– Undertaking any other duties as assigned by the Seed & Fertilizers Division Manager and other relevant authorities;
– Preparation of weekly, quarterly and annual reports concerning seed value chain delivery and development activities;

Master’s Degree in Business Administration
